Mr. Reid is a civil/structural consulting engineer in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. Mr. Reid is licensed in eight states across the southeast and provides consultation related to construction evaluation of residential and commercial structures, failure analysis, evaluation and scope of damage to structures, wind and hail damage assessment, water intrusion investigation, structural load analysis, and structural design analysis.

Prior to joining EDT, Mr. Reid was the Director of Operations at Fox Equipment, Inc. who provides engineering and fabrication of steel smokestacks, ductwork, structural towers, dampers, and expansion joints for power plants, paper mills, and oil refineries. Before becoming Director of Operations, his experience included working as the Director of Engineering and Project Engineer Industrial Environmental Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Fox Equipment. He has worked with high-profile clients such as Phillips 66, ExxonMobil, Southern Company, and Mitsubishi.  His skills include detailed design and construction of industrial steel smokestacks, ductwork, platforms, support towers, dampers, and expansion joints.  Specific areas of analysis and design include plate stress analysis, foundation load analysis due to wind and seismic, wind and seismic induced vibration analysis, heat transfer analysis, structural steel design, baseplate and anchor bolt design, lifting lug design, and tuned mass damper design.

When not at work, Mr. Reid enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, hunting, and fishing.
