Mr. Weddington is an electrical and controls systems consulting engineer, based out of Columbia, SC. He provides evaluation of electrical and control systems including failure analysis of components and systems, scope of damage, cost of repair, and code compliance in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Mr. Weddington graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2011. While working in industry he earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2017, where his research focused on modeling, fault diagnosis, and prognosis of Lithium-ion batteries.
Prior to joining EDT, he spent 14 years working as an electrical engineer in a variety of roles across several industries including chemical, mining, pharmaceutical, and pulp and paper. He participated as the subject matter expert in various process hazard analyses (PHA) and layers of protection analyses (LOPA), and regularly utilized root-cause analysis (RCA) to investigate incidents involving chemical exposure and equipment failure. He focused on industrial controls systems (PLC/DCS) for batch, continuous, and discrete control processes, and the electrical infrastructure supporting these operations.
When not on the job, Mr. Weddington enjoys spending time with his wife raising their four daughters along the Edisto River in Orangeburg, SC. Together they particpate in local music and theater productions, roast coffee, and try their hands at gardening.
