Michael E. Whitten, P.E.
A native Texan, Mr. Whitten was born and raised in east Texas.He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University in Texarkana.It was while working part-time as a draftsman in a Civil Engineering firm he realized his true calling. After completing his Accounting degree, he then earned his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Arkansas.
Mr. Whitten started his engineering career as a structural engineer designing structural components for the remodel, renovation, and retrofitting of existing retail facilities.He later became involved in the structural design of low and mid-rise construction for residential, commercial, warehouse, religious, educational, athletic, storm shelter, and health care facilities.His previous work experience provided him with a platform to gain experience with various structural components, including masonry, concrete, steel composite structural members, and timber. The types of construction utilized in these facilities include wood framed structures, light-gage steel framed structures, steel structures, composite deck, concrete tilt-wall, and masonry.
Mr. Whitten’s areas of service include construction evaluation, evaluation of scope and cause of damage to structures, remediation analysis, storm damage evaluation, water intrusion investigation, load distribution, load path, and analysis of structural and foundation design.
While he is not working, Mr. Whitten enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, playing golf, playing with his dog, and drawing.
Mr. Whitten is a licensed engineer in Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
