Michael E. Whitten, P.E.
A native Texan, Mr. Whitten was born and raised in east Texas. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University in Texarkana. It was while working part-time as a draftsman in a Civil Engineering firm he realized his true calling. After completing his Accounting degree, he then earned his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Arkansas.
He started his engineering career designing the structural components for the remodel, renovation, and retrofitting of retail facilities. He later became involved in the structural design for low and mid-rise structures for residential, commercial, warehouse, church, educational, athletic, storm shelter, and health care facilities. His design experience for these facilities utilized various structural materials including masonry, concrete, steel, timber, and composite materials. He also has experience in the analysis and design of shallow foundation systems, deep foundation systems, post-tension slabs-on-grade, concrete tilt-walls, and site retaining walls.
Mr. Whitten’s areas of service include construction evaluation, evaluation of scope and cause of damage to structures, remediation analysis, storm damage evaluation, water intrusion investigation, failure analysis, and analysis of structural and foundation design. While he is not working, Mr. Whitten enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, playing golf, playing with his dog, and drawing.
Mr. Whitten is a licensed engineer in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Arizona.
