Matthew O. Shuler, P.E.
Mr. Shuler is a civil/structural consulting engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina in Columbia where he was an All-American pole vaulter on the varsity track and field team. Mr. Shuler provides consultation in the areas of assessment of residential, commercial, and industrial structures including root cause investigation, scope of damage, building code compliance, construction evaluation, structural system assessment, and evaluation of structural components.
Prior to joining EDT, Mr. Shuler was a civil/structural engineer that worked on design and construction of large-scale power generation facilities such as combined cycle power plants and nuclear power plants. Mr. Shuler has worked on design teams in an office environment and has experience working directly from the construction site. His experience includes structural design of reinforced concrete structures such as cooling tower base structures and steam/gas turbine generator support structures. His experience also includes design of steel structures such as industrial platforms, pipe racks, and utility supports. Mr. Shuler’s experience has allowed him to see his structures from the design phase through the completion of the construction phase.
While he is not working, Mr. Shuler enjoys spending time with his family and being active.
