After presenting on the topic of sonar systems to his 8th grade science class, Mr. Moeckl knew a career in engineering was for him. After graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech, Mr. Moeckl began his career as an electrical design engineer for an engineering/architectural design firm designing low and medium voltage distribution, fire alarm, lighting, security and telecommunication structured cabling systems.
Mr Moeckl has a wide variety of design experience in different building types, including manufacturing facilities, offices, condominiums, dormitories, laboratories, healthcare, retail, and public schools. He also served as the project manager for the construction of various school buildings, including managing drafters, designers, and other engineers.
Mr. Moeckl enjoys watching movies with his wife, cheering on the Virginia Tech football and basketball teams, and watching his two young daughters grow and learn something new every day.
Mr. Moeckl is a registered engineer in Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania, a Registered Communications Distribution Designer, as well as a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also a Fire and Explosion Investigator.
