Mr. Braithwaite’s interest in the field of engineering began the day his father replaced their family’s broken dishwasher. With the help of a screw driver and a few good working days, young Mr. Braithwaite had dismantled the dishwasher and assimilated the parts into his tree house. In high school, he was introduced to mechanical engineering during a tour of a local mine and chemical refinery, and realized that there are many interesting problems to be solved, and all of them count on a mechanical engineer to come up with the answer.

Mr. Braithwaite attended the University of Wyoming and earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He then joined an architectural and engineering firm where he designed and constructed combined cycle power plants throughout the country. After several years of service, he accepted an opportunity to design and build air quality control projects for coal-fired power plants. Since joining ED&T in 2009, he has provided consulting services in the investigation and analysis of mechanical systems, including design and performance evaluation of machinery, machine components, fracture analysis, metallurgy, fire protection sprinkler systems, car fires, materials and component testing and equipment specification. When not on the job, he and his wife enjoy gardening and art history. He also enjoys woodworking and completing many home improvement projects. Mr. Braithwaite is a licensed engineer in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Wyoming.
