Mr. Young is a mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia. After graduating, he began his engineering career at Pratt & Whitney developing new nondestructive testing technologies and techniques. He was also involved in the design and testing of gas turbine and rocket engine components. Mr. Young later joined General Electric Gas Turbines where he designed, analyzed, and developed components for two of the world's largest gas turbine engines. Mr. Young also has worked as an engineer with Hitachi Electronics USA, a manufacturer of wide screen television tubes. While with Hitachi, Mr. Young designed and developed the placement of machines for a new production line. Mr. Young joined ED&T in 2004. His responsibilities at the firm include vehicle accident reconstruction, vehicle systems analysis, fire investigations, and evaluation and assessment of damage to equipment. In July of 2004, he opened and now manages the Orlando District Office. When not working, Mr. Young may be found racing his Mazda Miata in amateur road circuit races or fishing from a kayak in the backwaters of Florida. He and his wife make their home with two dogs and three cats, as well as two goats that are kept in a pasture. Mr. Young is a licensed engineer in the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and West Virginia.
