As Mr. Fortenberry grew up in Mississippi, he followed in the career path of his much admired brother-in-law who was a civil engineering graduate. A 1970 graduate in civil engineering from Mississippi State University, he has had ties with Alabama since his Cooperative Education Training with Republic Steel in Gadsden, Alabama. He ultimately moved to Alabama in 1973. Mr. Fortenberry focused his career on structural design engineering, but soon expanded to project engineering and project management. With over thirty years of engineering experience, he joined ED&T in 2004. His work includes residential, commercial and industrial projects. His knowledge and experience fit well with consultations involving structural evaluations, investigations of causes of structural failures, and code compliances evaluations. Ned and his wife reside in Moody, Alabama. When not immersed in consulting professionally, he consults with his three children and two grandchildren on fun projects, such as camping. Mr. Fortenberry is a licensed engineer in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
