A lifetime resident of Alabama, Mr. Whitley is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While a student at the university, he worked in residential construction, the low man on the totem pole doing everything required to build a house. After graduation, Mr. Whitley worked as a design structural engineer and construction manager for large industrial projects, giving him experience in all types of structures, from wood framed houses to steel and concrete industrial facilities.
A member of the ED&T staff since 1999, Mr. Whitley has experience in a wide range of projects. In addition to residential inspections, his work includes both commercial and industrial projects, construction defect inspections, litigation support and numerous other types of work. Mr. Whitley has substantial experience in storm related damage assessment. He also serves as the Engineering Manager of the Birmingham District Office. For stress relief away from work, he enjoys golf and home improvement projects.
Mr. Whitley is a licensed engineer in the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
