As a child assisting his father in the maintenance of the family vehicle and with the full restoration of a 1966 Chevrolet Corvair, Mr. Liechty's affinity for things automotive has remained strong. The paths of ED&T and Mr. Liechty crossed in 1996 when plans were laid to locate an office in Alabama. He was one of two engineers to start the Birmingham District Office, and now provides consultations in the inspection and technical analysis of motor vehicle systems related to the investigation, analysis, and reconstruction of motor vehicle collisions. Born in Winchester, Tennessee and raised in Birmingham, Mr. Liechty is a 1991 mechanical engineering graduate of Auburn University. After earning a bachelor's degree, he was employed with an international metal plate construction company, first as field engineer and then as a rigging engineer, providing specialized design and erection methods and procedures for projects including water storage, petroleum, and chemical tankage. Mr. Liechty and his family make their home in Birmingham. He enjoys rifle marksmanship competition and carries a Master classification in his shooting sport of choice, NRA High Power Rifle. Mr. Liechty is a licensed engineer in the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.
